Materia Sensible

There are materials that refuse to be con ned to canvas or reduced to technique. It is these unruly, expressive forces that the four artists in this exhibition celebrate. Sensitive Matter is a journey — an exploration of what painting can be when it becomes organic, instinctive, and vulnerably alive. It is a hymn to gestures that speak without words, to worlds that tremble beneath the brush, to matter itself when it becomes language.

From Barcelona, artist Germán Bel makes textures sing. Each layer is a trace, each stroke an echo of chaos mastered, each work a window into a world shaped by both nature and asphalt.
Facing him, a young Chinese painter sketches dreamlike landscapes on delicate calligraphy paper. After a period of politically engaged video art, SuJing has chosen softness — not out of naïveté, but with intent. Her owers carry the modesty of silence and the wisdom of owing water. Based in Paris for decades, artist Danhôo makes colors dance like an incantation. Bold, inspired, and free, his gestures blend the legacy of ancient Chinese calligraphy with the energy of Western action painting. Where others paint forms, he inscribes forces.

And a Mediterranean voice rises: that of a French artist rooted on the Costa Brava. With abstract monotypes, almost whispered, she captures the breath of the open sea, the shadows of coastal rocks, and the tenderness of golden light. Nothing is fixed; everything is suspended.

Sensitive Matter is an invitation to experience art not as concept, but as something felt — a tactile language of the soul. An open dialogue between East and West, between gestures and origins.

Existen materias que no se dejan encerrar en el lienzo ni reducir a la técnica. Son estas las que celebran los cuatro artistas reunidos en esta exposición. Materia Sensible es una travesía. Una exploración de lo que la pintura tiene de orgánico, de instintivo y también de vulnerable.

Un canto a los gestos que dicen sin palabras, a los mundos que vibran bajo el pincel, a las materias, simplemente, cuando se convierten en lenguajes.

Desde Barcelona, el artista Germán Bel hace cantar las texturas. Cada capa es una huella, cada trazo un eco del caos domado, cada obra una ventana hacía un mundo hecho de naturaleza y de asfalto.
Frente a él, una joven pintora china dibuja paisajes oníricos sobre un delicado papel de caligrafía. Tras haber explorado el videoarte comprometido, SuJing ha escogido la suavidad, sin ingenuidad. Sus ores tienen el pudor del silencio y la sabiduría del agua que uye.

Instalado en París desde hace décadas, el artista Danhôo hace bailar los colores como si lanzara un conjuro. Directo, inspirado y libre, su gesto mezcla la herencia de la caligrafía china milenaria con el action painting occidental. Donde otros pintan formas, él escribe fuerzas.

Y se alza una voz mediterránea: la de una artista francesa enraizada en la Costa Brava. Con monotipos abstractos, casi susurrados, Cécile Bercovici capta el aliento del mar abierto, las sombras de las rocas y la delicadeza de una luz dorada. Nada está jo, todo está en suspensión.

Materia Sensible es una invitación a mirar el arte no como concepto, sino como materia que se siente. Un diálogo abierto entre Oriente y Occidente, entre gestos y orígenes.
